Details Announced for Cocky Trot 5K and Alumni Spring Game

Get Ready for Big Gamecock Weekend, April 14 - 16

 The University of South Carolina Athletics Department announced today additional details for the Big Gamecock Weekend taking place April 14 – 16. 

On the morning of April 16, fans can participate in the Cocky Trot 5K and Fun Run. The race will begin in Gamecock Park and showcase athletics areas and facilities around Gamecock Park including the finish line on the field at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Cocky Trot 5K will begin at 9 a.m. and the Fun Run, approximately a one-mile race for kids and runners with strollers, will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Registration for both the Cocky Trot 5K and Fun Run is $35 for adults and $20 for youth 17 and under. To register visit: http://cockytrot5k.s2fevents.com/.

The registration includes:

  • Official Cocky Trot 5K t-shirt
  • Chip timing
  • Personal results page with a personal finish line video
  • Free tickets to the April 15 or April 16 baseball game vs. Ole Miss and the opportunity to purchase additional discounted tickets
  • Opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to the September 3 football game vs. Georgia State and the October 22 football game vs. Texas A&M


The Athletics Department is also looking for volunteers to assist on race day with various tasks. All volunteers will receive the official Cocky Trot 5K t-shirt as well as access to the ticket promotion for baseball and football.

As part of the Garnet and Black Spring Game, the USC Association of Lettermen will host a flag football game with former football lettermen on the north end of Williams-Brice Stadium. The alumni game will begin at 6 p.m. and will last approximately 45 minutes.
