Kraus Completes Gamecocks’ Appearance at NCAAs

Atlanta, Ga. – South Carolina senior swimmer Mari Kraus competed in the 200 back on the final day of the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.
 
The Oswego, Illinois, native swam in the final heat of the 200 back preliminaries. Her time of 1:56.86 was good for seventh place in her heat and 25th place overall.
 
Kraus retires as the program’s second-fastest swimmer in the 200 back with a time of 1:53.11, which she achieved during the 2022 SEC Championships.
 
The senior also is in the program record books as the third-fastest 200 free, third-fastest 100 back, and fifth-fastest 200 IM.
 
The Gamecocks will be represented at the men’s NCAA Championships by junior Manny Vazquez Bas, who will be competing in the 3-meter and platform dives March 25 and 26 in Atlanta, Ga.
