Gamecocks and Vols to Meet Under the Lights in Knoxville
The South Carolina Gamecocks and the No. 23/21 Tennessee Volunteers will renew their rivalry under the lights at Neyland Stadium (101,915) in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, Sept. 30, as a 7:30 pm ET kick on the SEC Network was announced today by the Southeastern Conference office.
The Gamecocks surprised the fifth-ranked Vols last year in Columbia by a 63-38 margin, effectively knocking UT out of playoff contention. Tennessee leads the all-time series by a 28-11-2 mark including an 18-3 advantage when the game has been played in Knoxville. Tennessee has won three of the last four contests, but South Carolina has captured four of the last seven in the series.
South Carolina (1-2, 0-1 SEC) hosts Mississippi State (2-1, 0-1 SEC) on Saturday, Sept. 23, while Tennessee (2-1, 0-1 SEC) entertains UTSA (1-2) in Knoxville on Saturday afternoon.
