Round Two Concludes at Blessings Collegiate

The No. 5 Carolina women are fifth and the men are ninth after 36 holes of play

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Round two of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational is complete as the No. 5 Gamecock women sit fifth and the Carolina men sit ninth. The women’s team posted a 6-over 294 today and three shots out of third at 13-over through 36 holes. The men’s team shot 298 (+10) today.

Sophomore Mia Sandtorv Lussand paced the Carolina women with a 1-under 71. She made a team-high seven birdies and was hurt only by a pair of double bogeys on her scorecard. Junior All-American Louise Rydqvist and freshman Vairana Heck each shot 74 (+2). All three players sit inside the top-20 on the leaderboard. Junior All-American Hannah Darling shot 75 (+3) and was the final counting score. She is T-26th at 6-over for the tournament.

On the men’s side, transfer Frankie Harris led the way with a score of 71 (-1). He made a trio of birdies with an eagle at the par-5 15th hole. Sophomores Zach Adams and Walker Jennings each shot 75 (+3). Adams sunk four birdies and Jennings had three red numbers on his scorecard. Transfer Laurens Schulze-Doering was the final counting score with a 77 (+5).

Arkansas, the host school playing on its home course, remains in the lead on both the women’s and men’s sides after 36 holes. The Razorbacks John Driscoll leads the men’s individual title race at 8-under thanks to a pair of 68s. Arkansas’ Maria Jose Marin leads the women’s individual title race at 10-under thanks to a pair of 67s.

Carolina’s women will be off at 8:45 a.m. (ET) tomorrow from hole one and the men will be off at 10:30 a.m. from hole 10.

Golf Channel will again have coverage of the final round tomorrow from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
