Legette and Williams Highlight Gamecocks on Phil Steele’s Post-Season Squads
Wide receiver Xavier Legette and linebacker Debo Williams led a contingent of six South Carolina Gamecocks named to post-season squads by Phil Steele, it was announced today.
Legette, a 6-3, 227-pound senior from Mullins, S.C., was a first-team All-SEC selection and a third-team All-American, according to the national publication, while Williams, a 6-1, 232-pound redshirt junior from Smyrna, Del., joined Legette on the All-SEC first team and was named an honorable mention All-American.
Long snapper Hunter Rogers, a 6-1, 202-pound redshirt junior from Columbia, was South Carolina’s lone representative on Steele’s All-SEC second team, while tight end Trey Knox, a 6-5, 237-pound grad transfer from Murfreesboro, Tenn., earned third team honors. Defensive tackle T.J. Sanders, a 6-5, 298-pound redshirt sophomore from Marion, S.C., and cornerback Marcellas Dial, a 6-0, 195-pound redshirt senior from Woodruff, S.C., garnered fourth-team All-SEC accolades from Steele.
