COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team won the midweek game against Gardner-Webb and fell twice to Clemson this week.

NOTES:
Ethan Petry now has five home runs on the season after hitting one each in games against the Tigers. Petry’s ninth-inning two-run home run on Saturday tied the game at four. He then had a ninth-inning home run on Sunday in a 5-4 loss. Petry now has 28 career home runs as a Gamecock.

Gavin Casas belted a three-run home run, part of a seven-run fifth inning in a 7-1 win over Gardner-Webb on Tuesday. It was Casas’ first home run of the season.

Ty Good pitched three scoreless innings on the week, striking out a pair in two innings in the Gardner-Webb win and pitching a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts at Clemson on Sunday. Good has 6.2 scoreless innings on the season with six strikeouts.

Dylan Brewer continues to get on base at a 61.7 percent clip, as he reached base three times in all three games this week. Brewer is hitting .500 with 17 hits, 11 walks and a hit by pitch.

Carolina will have five games at Founders Park this week, starting with a Tuesday night game against The Citadel.
