Redshirt sophomore transfer from Boca Raton, Fla. earns weekly honor for the second time this season
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Redshirt sophomore Frankie Harris was named SEC Golfer of the Week the league office announced on Wednesday. The first-year transfer shares the honor this week with Auburn’s J.M. Butler and Brendan Valdes.
It’s the second time Harris has won the award this season.
He was co-champion of the Wofford Invitational yesterday helping the team to a comeback victory as well. It was his second win of the season and the team’s first.
Harris fired a bogey free 67 (-3) in the final round on Tuesday and was one just four players in the field to post a 54-hole score in red figures. He shot 208 (-2), matching a career low score. He led the field with 43 pars.
The Gamecocks will be back on the course a week from today at the SEC Championship (April 24-28) at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course.
