Pelzek, Prosinski Named to All-SEC Teams

Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina swimmers Greta Pelzek and Raymond Prosinski both made appearances on the recently-announced All-SEC Teams – Pelzek on the Second Team and Prosinski on the Freshman Team.

For the All-SEC teams, the First Team consists of the top finisher in each event at the SEC Championships, the Second Team consists of the second and third place finishers in each event, and the All-Freshman Team consists of any redshirt or true freshman who finished either in the top-eight or is he highest scoring freshman of each event at the SEC Championships (not including relays).

Pelzek earned her spot on the Second Team thanks to a silver-medal-winning performance in the 200 fly at the SEC Championships. The junior was South Carolina’s leading scorer at both the SEC and NCAA Championships after placing 10th in the country in the 200 fly at the national meet which tabbed her as an All-American Honorable Mention.

Prosinski earned his spot on the Freshman Team thanks to being the highest-placing freshman in the 400 IM at the SEC Championships. He swam a new career-best time of 3:45.37 that landed him in 14th place. Prosinski’s time made him the fourth-fastest Gamecock of all time in the event.

This marks the third consecutive year that South Carolina has had an athlete on the men’s All-Freshman Team with Michael Laitarovsky earning the honor in 2022 and Charley Bayer in 2023.

This is also the third consecutive season that South Carolina has had women on the All-SEC First or Second Team with Brooke Schultz on the First Team in 2022 and 2023 and Sophie Verzyl on the Second Team in 2023.
