Bradley to be Honored During This Weekend's Baseball Series

COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina Department of Athletics, in association with baseball Alumni Weekend at Founders Park, will honor Lindell Bradley, the first African-American student-athlete for the Gamecocks.

Bradley, who was a member of the 1968 freshman baseball team and the 1969 varsity team under head coach Jack Powers, will throw out the first pitch before Sunday’s game. Bradley also will talk to the team before Friday’s game and will be part of a recognition breakfast Sunday at 10 a.m.

Carolina hosts Kentucky for a three-game series on April 26-28. The Gamecocks and Wildcats square off on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
