Nick Gargiulo Selected by Denver in the Seventh Round of the NFL Draft

COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 27, 2024) – University of South Carolina offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 256th pick in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He was the fourth Gamecock player taken overall.

Gargiulo, who measured in at 6-5 1/8 and 313 pounds on the Gamecocks’ Pro Day in March, spent just one year in Columbia as a graduate transfer after beginning his collegiate career at Yale University. In his one season with the Gamecocks, the versatile performer was the only offensive lineman to start in all 12 games, making five starts at left guard and seven starts at center. He was recognized as a Rex Enright Team Captain and Nutrition Award winner at the postseason Senior Banquet.

The Yorktown Heights, N.Y. product was named the lone captain of team 149 at Yale in 2022, a tradition that dates to the 19th century. He earned a degree from Yale with a double-major in economics and political science.

Gargiulo is the only the second Gamecock offensive lineman selected in the NFL Draft in the past five years, joining 2023 draft pick Jovaughn Gwyn (Atlanta).

Gargiulo is the fourth Gamecock selected in the 2024 NFL Draft joining wide receiver Xavier Legette, who was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round; quarterback Spencer Rattler, who was taken by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round and cornerback Marcellas Dial, who was picked by the New England Patriots in the sixth round.
