COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team won the series with No. 4 Kentucky, winning in walk-off fashion on Friday and shutting out the Wildcats on Sunday.

NOTES:
Dylan Eskew scattered five hits in a career-best 6.1 innings in helping Carolina to a 10-0, 7-inning win on Sunday, securing the series win. Eskew struck out a pair and walked just one while receiving a pair of double plays from his defense. Eskew earned his third win on the year and lowered his ERA to 3.78.

Kennedy Jones drove in eight runs in the three-game series with Kentucky, going 5-for-11 with a pair of walks. He had four RBI in the 10-0 win on Sunday, including a two-run single in the Gamecocks’ six-run fifth.

Carolina hit .310 on the weekend with 29 runs and nine extra-base hits. Austin Brinling had six hits in three games while Ethan Petry walked six times. Blake Jackson had three extra-base hits and six RBI.

Blake Jackson was the hero on Friday night in Carolina’s 6-5, 10-inning win, belting a two-run walk-off home run. Jackson started the ninth with a home run that was followed by Dalton Reeves’ and Gavin Casas’ solo shot that sent the game to extra frames.

Ty Good had another solid outing, striking out seven in five innings of relief on Friday. He allowed just two hits and two runs with only one walk and lowered his ERA to 2.95 this year.

Carolina hosts East Tennessee State in the midweek before heading to Columbia, Mo., to face Missouri next weekend.
