South Carolina 2024 Football Game Time Windows Set

Game time windows have been announced for South Carolina’s 2024 football games, the Southeastern Conference announced today.

Television start time windows are defined as follows:

  • Early – Start time between noon and 1 pm ET
  • Afternoon – Start time between 3:30 – 4:30 pm ET
  • Night – Start time between 6 and 8 pm ET
  • Flex – Start time between 3:30 and 8 pm ET

Game times and networks for the first three games of the season were announced on May 30. South Carolina will open the 2024 campaign against Old Dominion at 4:15 pm on Aug. 31. That contest will be televised on SEC Network. The Sept. 7 game at Kentucky will be televised nationally on ABC beginning at 3:30 pm. The Sept. 14 contest versus LSU will also be televised nationally on ABC with a noon kick from Williams-Brice Stadium.

South Carolina’s first night game of the season will come in week four on Sept. 21 when the Gamecocks host Akron in a non-conference matchup. The Gamecocks posted a 28-3 win over the Zips in their only previous gridiron encounter in 2018.

After an off week, the Gamecocks return to SEC action on Oct. 5 when they entertain the Ole Miss Rebels. That contest is the lone “flex” game of the season for South Carolina, with the starting time slated to fall between 3:30 and 8 pm ET. Ole Miss holds a slim 9-8 advantage in the all-time series, but the teams have not met in Columbia since 2009.

The Gamecocks next two contests on the road at Alabama and at Oklahoma are both early kicks. The Gamecocks and Crimson Tide will get underway at noon ET on either ABC or ESPN on Oct. 12 from Tuscaloosa, then the Gamecocks and Sooners will have an early kick in Norman on Oct. 19. It will mark the Gamecocks first trip to Alabama since 2009, while the meeting in Norman will be the first-ever between Carolina and Oklahoma.

After the second bye week of the season, the Bonham Trophy will be in the balance when South Carolina hosts Texas A&M under the lights at Williams-Brice Stadium on Nov. 2. The Aggies hold a 9-1 lead in the all-time series, but the last time A&M came to Columbia for a night game in 2022, the Gamecocks posted a 30-24 win.

The Gamecocks’ next three contests, at Vanderbilt on Nov. 9, versus Missouri on Nov. 16, and at home against Wofford on Nov. 23, will all be in the afternoon window. The Wofford contest has been set for a 4 pm kick and will be streamed on ESPN+/SECN+. The Gamecocks have won 15-straight games against the Commodores, have dropped five in a row to the Tigers, and have won each of the last 17 contests against the Terriers.

Kick time and television network for the annual Palmetto Bowl regular season finale against Clemson, slated for Nov. 30, is part of the ACC television package and will be announced at a later date.

Designating windows for all games after Week 3 prior to the start of the season is a new benefit of the new conference rights agreement between the Southeastern Conference and ESPN kicking off this fall. For all listed windows (Early, Afternoon, Night, Flex), the exact start time within such window(s) and the television network will be confirmed no later than six days prior to the game.
