Gamecocks and Sooners Game Time and Network Assignment on Hold
The South Carolina Gamecocks will make their first trip ever to Norman, Okla. to face the No. 18/16 Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday, Oct. 19. Game time will be either noon or 12:45 pm ET (11 am or 11:45 am CT) and the contest will be televised on either ESPN or the SEC Network, the Southeastern Conference office announced today. The game time and network assignment will be finalized after the conclusion of games on Oct. 12.
The Gamecocks (3-2, 1-2 SEC) and Sooners (4-1, 1-1 SEC) have never met on the gridiron. South Carolina’s only previous venture into the state of Oklahoma came in the 1948 season when the Gamecocks defeated Tulsa by a 27-7 score.
Both teamhave tough tasks this week, as South Carolina travels to No. 7/7 Alabama (4-1, 1-1 SEC), while Oklahoma faces top-ranked Texas (5-0, 1-0 SEC) in the Red River Rivalry in Dallas.
