Know Before You Go: Texas A&M
Back at home...under the lights for homecoming
After a bye week, Carolina is back in action at Williams-Brice Stadium this Saturday under the lights to take on Texas A&M for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 7:44 p.m. on ABC.
Check out some of the things happening at Saturday’s game.
Gamecock Walk Flyover
You won’t want to miss Gamecock Walk this week. We well have A-10 fighter jets from the 104th Fighter Squadron of the Maryland Air National Guard conducting a flyover as part of Gamecock Walk!
The A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft, commonly called the “Warthog,” is the first Air Force aircraft specially designed for close air support of ground forces. The hydraulically driven seven-barrel Gatling-style autocannon can fire up to 3,900 of 30 mm rounds per minute.
Hall of Fame Recognition
At halftime, we’ll recognize the nine Gamecocks who were selected for this year’s class of the South Carolina Lettermen’s Hall of Fame: Pharoh Cooper, Dana Fulmer, Melvin Ingram, Bob Kaczka, Tiffany Mitchell, Tommy Moody, Jocelyn Penn, Jason Richardson and Shalonda Solomon.
Gamecocks helping Gamecocks
We’re asking the Gamecock community to help us collect items for the Gamecock CommUnity Shop at Saturday’s game! Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods and/or toiletries with them that can be dropped off in Gamecock Village before heading into the stadium for the Gamecock CommUnity Shop. The Gamecock CommUnity Shop is an on-campus shop that provides free food, toiletries and school supplies to USC students, faculty and staff to help meet their basic needs.
