Late Touchdown Scramble Earns South Carolina the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week
Florida Citrus Sports and Pop-Tarts have teamed up to present the Pop-Tarts ‘Crazy Good’ Play of the Week during the 2024-25 college football season, with each week’s play selected in conjunction with the Football Writers Association of America.
Now in its second season, the award celebrates incredible athleticism, awe-inspiring strategy and jaw-dropping “did you see that?” moments from across the college football landscape each week.
South Carolina is the winner of the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week for Week 14 for LaNorris Sellers’ touchdown scramble that stunned Clemson.
Trailing in-state rival Clemson 14-10 and facing 3rd-and-16, Sellers scrambled and weaved 20 yards into the end zone to give the Gamecocks their first lead of the day.
The 17-14 win was South Carolina’s sixth straight after a 3-3 start and kept the Gamecocks in contention for a College Football Playoff berth.
Sellers finished with 166 yards rushing, including a 27-yard run on 3rd-and-4 on that final drive and a 25-yard scoring run in the second quarter. The freshman added 164 yards passing on 13-for-21.
Throughout the season, the FWAA has announcing the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week at the conclusion of each week’s games, after the FWAA All-America committee selected one outstanding play each weekend during the regular season. This is the final selection of the season.
To celebrate the honor, each winning team has received a care package of Pop-Tarts toaster pastries.
The Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week follows Pop-Tarts’ entry into college football with the Pop-Tarts Bowl, organized and managed by Florida Citrus Sports, and fans can nominate their favorite plays through the Pop-Tarts social media accounts (@PopTartsBowl).
