Phil Steele Names Three Gamecocks All-Americans and Ten to All-SEC Teams
Three University of South Carolina football players were named All-Americans while ten players dotted Phil Steele’s four All-SEC teams, the media outlet announced today.
Defensive end Kyle Kennard earned first-team All-America honors, according to Steele, while safety Nick Emmanwori was a second-team selection and punter Kai Kroeger was a third-team pick, according to Steele. All three players garnered first-team All-SEC honors.
Three South Carolina players – quarterback LaNorris Sellers, running back Raheim Sanders and defensive tackle T.J. Sanders earned second team All-SEC honors.
Offensive guard Torricelli Simpkins III, defensive back Jalon Kilgore and long snapper Hunter Rogers were the three Gamecocks named to Steele’s All-SEC third team. Rogers also received honorable mention All-America distinction.
South Carolina tight end Joshua Simon was a fourth-team All-SEC selection by Steele.
