
Gamecocks Cruise to Eight Wins in Regular Season Indoor Finale
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Feb. 22, 2025) – The 2025 indoor regular season concluded on Saturday afternoon at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex with the Gamecocks hosting the USC Invite. South Carolina was responsible for eight overall wins, including six wins from the men’s team.
Anthony Greenhow secured a win in the men’s 200m, running a season best time of 20.88 for the momentum heading into the SEC Indoor Championship next week. Fellow freshman teammate Devan Crumpton notched a win of his own in the 400m, clocking 46.66. David Warmington captured his first win of the season in the 60-meter hurdles, running 8.08 in the preliminary round before turning in a time of 7.99 in the finals.
The men’s distance group flexed its muscles in the home finale, winning both the 800m and the mile. Joshua Kosgei made his season debut in the 800m, running 1:50.69 for the fastest time by the Gamecocks this season. Rogerio Amaral also ran the fastest time by a Gamecock this season in his respective event, clocking 3:56.54 in the men’s mile for the win and the second fastest time in program history.
The Gamecock men captured one win in the field events as Nate Figgers cleared 2.05m (6-8.75) in the men’s high jump. Spencer Eison finished runner-up in the triple jump (14.49m), while Brandon Dennis capped off his shot put performance with a big personal best of 17.40m (57-1) to finish runner-up.
The women’s team was responsible for a pair of wins, doing so in the 800m and the mile. Sinead Joyce notched her first win in a Gamecock uniform, claiming the 800m title with a time of 2:13.28. Salma Elbadra won her first event as a Gamecock, setting a new facility record in the women’s mile after clocking 4:31.09. Teammates, Hattie Jennings and Emma Torbert, ran the ninth and 10th fastest indoor miles in program history with Jennings running 4:50.07 and Torbert clocking 4:50.23.
South Carolina also finished with five runner-up finishes on the women’s side. McKenzie Travis earned the silver medalist honors in the 60m (7.41), while Imani Rivas did the same in the 200m with a new indoor personal best of 24.15. Freshman sprinter Joslyn Hamilton secured fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles but was able to run the fastest time this season for the Gamecocks and eighth fastest in program history, running 8.22 in the prelims.
The women’s field events earned three runner-up finishes with Omaria Gordon doing so in the long jump (6.07m), Cameran Gist in the triple jump (12.35m) and both Lena Richardson and Emma Stone tying for second in the pole vault (3.73m).
The Gamecocks will now prepare for a quick turnaround as they head to College Station, Texas for a showdown at the SEC Indoor Championship. The coveted conference title meet will begin on Thursday, Feb. 27 and will conclude on Saturday, March 1.
