Gamecocks Conclude Day Three of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 29, 2025) – South Carolina Track & Field put a bow on its competition in the Raleigh Relays on Saturday, competing in the men and women’s 800 meter races.

Sylvia Chelangat highlighted the Gamecocks on Saturday with a runner-up finish in the women’s 800m with a time of 2:04.43, ranking third in the NCAA East Region. Sinead Joyce and Eliza Brand made their outdoor collegiate 800m debuts, running 2:11.29 (Joyce) and 2:16.17 (Brand).

The men also had three runners compete in the 800m, led by Noah Contreras who finished 26th overall with a mark of 1:50.34. Joshua Kosgei ran 1:50.73 to finish 36th overall to follow Contreras. Logan Hill made his 800m debut on Saturday, running 1:52.65.

South Carolina will resume competition next weekend as the Gamecocks head to Gainesville, Fla. for the 2025 Pepsi Florida Relays. The two-day meet will begin on Friday, April 4 and conclude on Saturday, April 5.
