Gamecocks Wrap up Season with One All-American
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Gamecock swimming & diving season came to an end on Saturday evening in Federal Way, Washington after sophomore diver Max Spencer earned All-American honorable mention at NCAA Championships.
Connor Fry kicked off the meet on Thurs., March 27 with the 500 freestyle, swimming a 4:20.28.
On Saturday, Spencer took 12th place overall in the prelims session of the platform with a 355.25 which earned him a spot in the consolation finals. Fry followed, competing in the 1650 freestyle where he clocked a 14:53.29.
In the consolation finals of the platform, Spencer earned All-American honorable mention status after placing 16th with a 305.15 which was highlighted by a score of 67.20 on a reverse 2 ½ somersault tuck.
