Gamecocks Face Seminoles for Friday Dual Meet
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina swimming and diving returns to action on Friday as they travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to take on the Florida State Seminoles.
Events kick off at noon and live results will be available on the subscription-based Meet Mobile platform.
The No.17 Gamecock women opened the 2025-26 season with a win over No. 12 Georgia, their first over the Bulldogs in 40 years. The men’s team saw six new top ten program times alongside 13 podium finishes.
Later that week, the women traveled to Arkansas, where they picked up their second win of the year. Senior Sophie Verzyl led the way, sweeping the diving events and earning SEC Diver of the Week honors.
Senior Amy Riordan set a new pool record at Arkansas in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.41. She also notched a win in the 200 backstroke against Georgia.
On the men’s side, freshman Einar Agustsson made his Gamecock debut, earning a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, tailing the eighth fastest time in program history with a time of 52.99.
The men’s 400 freestyle relay team of Ryan Hufford, Bexon Harrison, Eldor Usmonov and Pierre Largeron closed out the Georgia meet, finishing second with the sixth fastest time in Gamecock history (2:54.91)
