Verzyl Captures Gold at 2025 USA Diving Winter Nationals

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina senior diver Sophie Verzyl earned gold in the 3-meter dive at the 2025 USA Diving Winter National Championship on Sunday evening in Midland, Texas.

On the third day of competition, Verzyl captured her second gold medal of the year with a score of 593.30. She previously earned gold at the 2025 USA Diving National Championship in May, sending her to the World Championships this past summer.

So far this season, the Columbia. S.C. native has set a new program record in the 1-meter alongside three SEC Diver of the Week accolades, nine event wins and a new pool record at Tennessee.
