Verzyl Defends 3-Meter Title, Becomes Three-Time SEC Champ
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Sophie Verzyl picked up the third SEC Championship title of her career, second of the meet, after scoring a 402.50 to defend her 3-meter title on Thursday night inside Allen Jones Aquatic Center.

DAY FOUR
- Sophie Verzyl highlighted the evening session by defending her 3-meter title. Verzyl claimed her third SEC Championship victory with a score of 402.50.
- The women’s 400 medley relay team of Riordan, Goodwin-Birnie, Agliano and Scholes earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 3:31.52. Riordan set a new school record in the 100 backstroke with a split of 51.50.
- On the men’s side, Ryan Hufford, Einar Agustsson, Eldor Usmonov and Bexon Harrison finished 10th with a time of 3:07.41.
- Delaney Frankling finished eighth overall in the 400 individual medley, recording a time of 4:15.35.
- Pierre Largeron broke his own school record in the 200 freestyle. In the morning session, he swam a 1:33.31 but re-broke the mark by recording a 1:32.92 in the consolation final.
- Amy Riordan finished eighth in the 200 freestyle championship final, turning in a time of 1:44.25.
- The Gamecocks finish day four prelims with 10 swimmers advancing to the finals session and three new school records.
- Jordan Agliano led the charge after qualifying for the consolation final with a time of 52.30.
- Eldor Usmonov earned a spot in the men’s consolation final after recording a new school record of 45.88.
- Taylor Grimley and Ryan Hufford will compete in their respective bonus finals.
- Delaney Frankling grabbed her first championship final of the week in the 400 individual medley, finishing sixth in prelims with a time of 4:10.23. Meghan Harnish will compete in the consolation final after turning in a time of 4:13.82, placing her 12th.
- Raymond Prosinski secured a spot in the 400 individual medley bonus final after swimming a time of 3:51.46.
- In the 200 freestyle, Amy Riordan led the way, breaking the school record with a time of 1:43.60. She will return tonight for the championship final after placing sixth in prelims. Ellery Ottem will compete in the bonus final.
- Pierre Largeron set a new school record as well, finishing 12th with a time of 1:33.13. Largeron will compete in the consolation final.
