2014: Team captain… named to the SEC Community Service team… was the Freddie Solomon Community Spirit Award winner and named a finalist for the Wuerffel Trophy… named the quarterback on the academic all-district team… set a Carolina school record and led the SEC with 3,564 passing yards… led in the league in passing yards per game (274.2) and was third in total offense (268.6)… his 3,492 yards of total offense was a school record… ranked third in the SEC with 26 touchdown passes, the second-highest single-season mark in school history… led the SEC and set the school records with 270 completions and 451 pass attempts in a season… tied Connor Shaw’s record for touchdowns responsible for in a season with 31… threw for a career-high 366 yards and four scores in the season opener vs. Texas A&M… the 366 yards passing was the ninth-highest single-game total in school history… completed a 69- and a 40-yard touchdown pass, the first QB to throw a pair of 40-plus yard TD passes in a game for Carolina since Blake Mitchell in the 2006 Liberty Bowl… threw for a then-career-high 25 completions in 33-23 win over East Carolina… completed 21-of-30 for 271 yards and three TDs in win over No. 6 Georgia… went 22-of-34 for 237 yards and three scores in win at Vanderbilt… completed 23-of-37 for 218 yards and one touchdown at Kentucky… threw a pair of touchdown passes while going 14-of-22 for 262 yards against Furman… tied a school record with five touchdown passes at No. 5 Auburn, while completing 29-of-50 for 402 yards, the fifth most passing yards in a single game in school history… completed 20-of-32 with two TDs, including one for 85 yards, versus Tennessee… ran for the game-winning touchdown in overtime at Florida, adding in 206 yards passing in the game… threw for 237 yards and a score against South Alabama, also adding his first career touchdown reception on a trick play… completed 22-of-34 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for another TD in the bowl win over Miami… played in the East-West Shrine Bwol following the season… was 10-6 as a starter… finished his career ranked in the Gamecocks’ all-time top-10 in passing yards (8th-5,391), passing attempts (9th-669), pass completions (8th-390), completion percentage (5th-.583), passing touchdowns (5th-40) and total offense (9th-5,385)… served an internship under the direction of Athletics Director Ray Tanner during the spring to complete his undergraduate degree… recognized at the 2014 Garnet & Black Spring Game as the recipient of the Dr. Harris Pastides Outstanding Student-Athlete Representative of the University of South Carolina. 2013: Backup signal-caller who proved to be effective when given an opportunity… played in 10 of 13 games making one start… completed 58.4 percent of his passes Roll. 2012: Sophomore quarterback who proved to be a more than an adequate backup for Connor Shaw… completed 66-of-127 passes on the season for 1,027 yards and 10 TDs with just two interceptions in 11 games… made a pair of starts for an injured Shaw, throwing for over 300 yards on each occasion… made his first career start against East Carolina and responded by completing 21-of-37 passes for 330 yards with three touchdowns and no picks… also rushed nine times for 17 yards… had TD passes of 7, 30 and 29 yards, and also completed a 53-yard pass to Damiere Byrd… selected as the Capital One Cup Impact Performer of the Week for his efforts… came off the bench to hit 5-of-10 passes for 177 yards and two TDs against UAB… hit Byrd on a 94-yard touchdown pass, the fourth-longest pass completion in school history and also hooked up with Shaq Roland on a 30-yard scoring strike… also rushed for a six-yard score… completed 8-of-20 passes for 83 yards in a relief role at Florida… got his second starting nod at Clemson… responded by completing 23-of-41 passes for 310 yards with three touchdowns… scoring passes were from 13, 34 and 6 yards out… also had a key 20-yard draw on a 3rd-and-19 situation, the longest run of his career, setting up the game’s final touchdown… received the Ernest Brooks MVP award for his performance against the Tigers… hit 7-of-10 passes for 117 yards and two scores in the Outback Bowl win over Michigan… connected on a 70-yard strike to Nick Jones and found Bruce Ellington on a 32-yard scoring pass with just 11 seconds left in the contest, lifting Carolina to a 33-28 win… named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll… shared Most Improved Quarterback honors at the 2012 Garnet & Black Spring Game with Seth Strickland. 2011: Listed as the second-team signal-caller after the departure of Stephen Garcia… saw action in four games… appeared in the Vanderbilt game, rushing one time for one yard… carried three times for 11 yards, including an 8-yard TD vs Kentucky… also completed both of his passes in that game for 17 yards… rushed once for four yards at Arkansas… took the snaps on the final series in the Capital One Bowl win over Nebraska… named to the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll. 2010: Redshirted as a true freshman… worked with the scout team. HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport star at Boiling Springs (S.C.) High School, graduating in 2010… selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas… threw for 1,300 yards and rushed for another 500, accounting for 21 touchdowns in only six games as a junior as the Bulldogs went 8-4 before losing to eventual AAAA state finalist Sumter… hindered by a separated shoulder… also played basketball… averaged 17 points, five rebounds and five assists as a junior, earning a scholarship offer from Louisiana Tech… considered a two-star prospect by Rivals.com… rated a two-star prospect by Scout.com… regarded as a two-star prospect and the nation’s 94th-ranked quarterback by ESPN.com… also considered ECU, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Furman… hails from the same school that produced former Carolina quarterback Phil Petty.
