Scholarship placekicker who will compete with walk-on Landon Ard to handle the duties as the squad’s kickoff specialist and placekicker, replacing Adam Yates… has shown a strong leg last year but needs to gain consistency in his kicking.
2012: Redshirted as a true freshman placekicker.
HIGH SCHOOL: Converted 11-of-17 field goals as a senior at McEachern High in Powder Springs, Ga., with a long of 49 yards… graduated in 2012… career best is a 54-yard field goal… averaged 68 yards per kickoff… named to the AJC All-Area team… coached by Kyle Hockman… team was 10-2 in both his junior and senior seasons… over the past two seasons he connected on 20 field goals and totaled 121 touchbacks on kickoffs… was the Class AAAAA 2010 first-team All-State kicker by the AP… also the Cobb County Touchdown Club’s All-County Kicker of the Year… was a two-star prospect by Rivals.com and Scout.com… a three-star recruit, the eighth-best kicker and the 70th-best player in Georgia according to ESPN.com… a three-star recruit, the nation’s fourth-best kicker and the 104th-best player in the state according to 247Sports.com… selected Carolina over Georgia Tech, Middle Tennessee State, South Alabama and Georgia Southern.
PERSONAL: Nicholas “Nick” St. Germain was born September 6, 1993… is a business administration major at South Carolina… became the first recruited scholarship placekicker at Carolina since Ryan Succop.
