Transfer from Washington State who begins his second season with the program… has an opportunity to compete for more consistent playing time at safety in 2022… known for his physical style of play… played both the free safety and strong safety positions in three seasons at Washington State.

2021 (Redshirt Junior)
Joined the squad in the summer as a transfer from Washington State… appeared in seven games… credited with one tackle versus Eastern Illinois.

2020 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Appeared in one game, starting at strong safety and made two tackles against No. 11 Oregon… the Cougars played a COVID-shortened four-game schedule.

2019 (Redshirt Freshman)
Appeared in all 13 games… recorded 33 tackles with one for loss… forced one fumble… led the team with six special teams tackles… made four tackles and forced a fumble in season-opener against New Mexico State… credited with three stops against Northern Colorado… recorded three tackles and was named WSU Special Teams Player of the Week after making big hit on kickoff at Houston… had four tackles at Utah… made three stops with one tackle-for-loss against Colorado… logged a career-high six tackles at Oregon… recorded four tackles at Cal… made three stops versus Air Force in the Cheez-It Bowl.

Tyrese Elijah Ross was born May 13, 2000… is an interdisciplinary studies major… father, Dominic Ross, played fullback for offensive coordinator Mike Leach at Valdosta State in the early 1990s and later for the Dallas Cowboys, earning a Super Bowl ring in 1996… brother Dominique played football at North Carolina.
