Chaun Gresham Bio

2012: Reserve linebacker who did not see any action… played several positions while at South Carolina… came in as a linebacker, was moved to defensive end in the spring of 2010, moved to tight end in the spring of 2011, then went back to the defensive side of the ball at Will linebacker when the 2011 fall camp opened… was been a contributor on special teams.

2011: Made the transition from defensive line to tight end in the spring, then was moved to the Will linebacker position when fall camp opened… did not see any game action.
2010: Played in 12 of 14 games, primarily on special teams… made seven tackles including six solo stops… credited with stops vs. Southern Miss, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas… missed the Troy and Clemson games after suffering concussion on opening kickoff at Florida.

2009: Redshirted as a true freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Shane Davis at Apalachee High School in Winder, Ga., graduating in 2009… the Wildcats went 7-4 in his senior season, the winningest season in school history (they began competing at the varsity level in 2000)… recorded a team-leading 96 tackles, including 16 tackles for loss, in his final campaign… logged 84 tackles as a sophomore and 112 as a junior, including 13 tackles for loss… returned two interceptions for touchdowns against Monroe Area in 2006… three-star prospect who was rated as the 55th-best outside linebacker in the nation and the 64th-best prospect in the state of Georgia by Rivals.com… a three-star prospect and the nation[apos]s 35th-best strongside linebacker, according to Scout.com… considered the state[apos]s 39th-best player by SuperPrep… named to PrepStar[apos]s All-Southeast Region squad… also had offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Clemson and originally committed to Georgia Tech before selecting the Gamecocks.

PERSONAL: Chauntil D. Gresham is pursuing a degree in criminal justice… is the nephew of Gamecock great George Rogers.
