Defensive back who is in his fifth year of college football in 2026 and his third with the Gamecocks… transferred to South Carolina in 2024 after spending two years at Tennessee Tech, an FCS program out of the Ohio Valley Conference located in Cookeville, Tenn… works at safety and on special teams… has appeared in 36 games over his career with 58 tackles including 3.5 tackles for loss with two interceptions and six pass breakups.

2025 (Redshirt Junior)
Appeared in all 12 games as a reserve safety and special teams performer… credited with 14 tackles including 1.0 tackle for loss… recorded a pair of interceptions and a pass breakup… notched interceptions in back-to-back games against Missouri and Kentucky.. returned the INT against Kentucky 45 yards for a touchdown… was one of four Gamecocks to have a pair of picks on the season… had a season-high four tackles against Oklahoma… presented with the Harold White GPA Award for the defense at the 2025 Garnet & Black Spring Game.

2024 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Third-year player who was in his first season with the Gamecocks… played in all 13 games primarily on special teams… recorded seven tackles, notching one against seven different opponents… earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District team and named to both the 2024 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll and the 2024-25 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

2023 (Redshirt Freshman)
Played in 11 contests for the Golden Eagles… recorded 37 tackles including 2.5 tackles for loss… credited with five pass breakups… played his best ball at the end of the season after moving into the starting lineup for the final four games… notched 24 of his 37 tackles and all five of his pass breakups over the season’s final four games, including back-to-back contests against UT Martin and Garner-Webb when he logged 7.0 tackles each… had a tackle for loss and a pass breakup against Gardner-Webb… Tennessee Tech posted a 4-7 record under head coach Dewayne Alexander.

2022 (Freshman)
Did not see any action as a true freshman at Tennessee Tech… redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL
A three-sport athlete at Georgia’s Putnam County High… completed 96-of-178 passes for 1,870 yards, averaging 19.5 yards per completion and 143.8 yards per game as a senior quarterback in 2021… threw for 20 touchdowns… also ran for 478 yards on 67 carries with 11 rushing touchdowns.

Gerald J. Kilgore was born Sept. 11, 2003… is a services management major… younger brother, Jalon, played for the Gamecocks from 2023-25.
