Talented quarterback who is in his fourth year in the program… possesses excellent speed, size and strength along with a strong arm… hard worker with a long attention span and detail oriented… owns a 12-12 record as a starting quarterback with four 300-yard passing games and two 100-yard rushing contests… has completed 378-of-596 career passes, 63.4 pct., third in program history behind Spencer Rattler (67.5) and Connor Shaw (65.5)… has tossed 33 TD passes, 11th in school history, with 15 career interceptions… has rushed 320 times for 995 yards and 13 scores… was the FWAA selection as the nation’s Freshman Offensive Player of the Year and was the SEC’s Freshman of the Year in 2024… recognized twice as the SEC Offensive Player of the Week and twice as the SEC Freshman of the Week… is a two-time Rex Enright team captain.

2025 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Started all 12 games at quarterback… named a Rex Enright permanent team captain for the second-straight year… completed 178-of-293 passes (60.8 pct.) for 2,437 yards and 13 touchdowns with eight interceptions… rushed 149 times for 270 yards and five touchdowns… added one pass reception for 21 yards at Texas A&M… best game came in the season finale against Clemson when he set career highs in pass completions (23), pass attempts (42) and passing yards (381)… also threw for 302 yards and two scores at Missouri, his second career 300-yard passing game against the CoMo Tigers… completed eight passes of 50 yards or more with seven going for touchdowns, including a long of 80 yards to Nyck Harbor at Texas A&M, the 14th-longest pass completion in school history… finished the season strong, throwing for 901 yards and six touchdowns over the final three contests (Texas A&M, Coastal Carolina and Clemson)… threw for two touchdowns and a 70-plus yard TD reception in each of those three games.

2024 (Redshirt Freshman)
Redshirt freshman who exploded on the scene, especially in the second half of the season where he was arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the country… recognized following the season as the National Freshman Offensive Player of the Year and Freshman All-American by the FWAA… selected by the league’s 16 coaches as the SEC’s Freshman of the Year, Freshman All-SEC and third-team All-SEC behind only Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss and Quinn Ewers from Texas… earned second-team All-SEC honors from Phil Steele… named a Rex Enright team captain, the first freshman in school history to earn that distinction… was the Steve Wadiak Team MVP and shared the Steve Spurrier MVP for offense with Raheim Sanders… named a finalist for the Blanchard-Rogers Trophy… anointed the starting quarterback entering the fall after he was named the Joe Morrison Offensive Player of the Spring… played in 12 of 13 games, missing the second half of the LSU game and all of the Akron contest with an ankle injury… completed 196-of-299 passes for 2,534 yards… his 65.6 completion percentage ranked seventh in school history… tied for ninth in school history with 18 touchdown passes in a season… second on the team in rushing with 166 carries for 674 yards and seven touchdowns… the 674 yards rushing was a school record by a quarterback… did not throw for more than 238 yards in any of his first six games, then threw for less than 238 just once over his final six contests including a pair of 300-yard performances… ranked in the top-10 in the SEC in total offense (7th), total touchdowns (7th), passing yards  per game (9th), pass efficiency (3rd), passing yards per completion (8th), pass attempts (10th), pass completions (10th), pass completion percentage (3rd), and passing TDs (8th)… rushed a season-high 22 times in the season-opener against Old Dominion… became the first Gamecock freshman quarterback to lead his squad to an SEC road win since Ryan Hilinski pulled off the feat at Georgia in a double-overtime win during the 2019 season when he led the Gamecocks to a win at Kentucky in Week 2… .his 75-yard touchdown run against LSU was the longest by a quarterback in school history… earned the Manning Award “Star of Stars,” SEC Freshman of the Week, and Davey O’Brien co-National Quarterback of the Week honors after leading the Gamecocks to a 44-20 win over No. 10 Texas A&M… threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns and added 106 rushing yards against the Aggies… completed 14-of-20 passes for 238 yards and two scores in the win at Vanderbilt, earning SEC Freshman of the Week accolades for a second-straight week… touted as the SEC Offensive Player of the Week against Missouri, the third week in a row in which he was recognized by the conference office, when he logged career highs with 353 yards passing and five touchdowns… matched his then-career high with 23 completions in just 27 attempts for 307 yards and three touchdowns against Wofford… threw for 164 yards and rushed for a career-high 166 yards and two touchdowns in the win at Clemson earning SEC co-Offensive Player of the Week honors… was the only Power 4 quarterback to rush and pass for more than 150 yards in a game in 2024… his 166 yard rushing against Clemson was the most by a Carolina player in 2024 and the fourth-highest single-game total by a quarterback in school history… his 20-yard scramble to paydirt for the game-winning score on 3rd-and-16 with just over a minute remaining in the contest will be remembered forever by Gamecock and Tiger fans alike and was recognized as the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week… set career highs with 24 completions and 34 pass attempts including a career-long 60-yard completion in the Citrus Bowl against Illinois… recognized as the Joe Morrison Offensive Player of the Spring… named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

2023 (Freshman)
Enrolled in January… made three appearances as a true freshman… completed all four of his passes for 86 yards and a touchdown… also rushed five times for 51 yards and a score… made his debut in the win over Furman… was a  a perfect 4-for-4 for 86 yards and two touchdowns against the Paladins, including a 50-yard bomb to fellow freshman Tyshawn Russell… appeared in the win against Vanderbilt and recorded his first rushing touchdown, a 36-yard scamper… also saw action in the Kentucky win, carrying the ball twice for nine yards… named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from South Florence (S.C.) High School in December, 2022… the lone quarterback signed by the Gamecocks in the 2023 class… threw for 2,948 yards (150-for-258) with 45 touchdowns and only two interceptions while rushing for 1,338 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior, leading the Bruins to a 4A state championship… named the Florence Morning News Player of the Year… was a finalist for the state’s Mr. Football… coached by Drew Marlowe… named offensive MVP in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas after leading the Sandlappers to the win by completing 9-of-13 passes for 121 yards and one touchdown… also rushed for 41 yards on 12 carries.

LaNorris M. Sellers was born June 23, 2005… is a sport and entertainment management major… younger brother, Jayden, is a wide receiver on the Carolina squad… donated $16,000 to the South Florence football program on May 1, 2025.
