Max Kelley Bio

Kicking specialist who begins his second year in the program… has worked at both disciplines but expected to focus on placekicking in 2026… will compete for the wide-open position following the graduation of William Joyce… handled kickoffs as a true freshman and earned a spot on the Coaches All-SEC Freshman team.

2025 (Freshman)
True freshman who joined the squad in the summer… earned his way into a role as the team’s top kickoff specialist, handling 47 of the 58 opportunities… averaged 61.6-yards per kick with 17 touchbacks… opponents averaged just 17.5-yards per kick return against the Gamecocks… named to the Coaches’ All-SEC Freshman team as a kickoff specialist.

HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Gallatin (Tenn.) High School in 2025… coached by Michael Stroup… connected on 57-of-65 career PATs and 16-of-23 field goals during his high school career… was 24-of-27 on PATs and finished 7-of-11 in field goals with a career long of 51 yards in 2024… averaged 38.1 yard per punt for the Green Wave in 2023… also connected on 9-of-12 field goals with a long of 45 yards and went 33-of-38 on PATs as a junior.. also played baseball.

Max Kelley was born June 25, 2006… is a biological sciences major… father, Jay Kelley, is a former placekicker at Liberty where he earned All-American honorable mention honors by the Football Gazette in 2001.
