Blake Baxley

Senior defensive back who figures to gain his playing time on special teams… has appeared in 19 contests over the past two seasons earning a pair of letters… named to the 2009 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll… earned the Special Teams Award, presented at the 2010 Garnet & Black Spring Game.

2009: Regular contributor on special teams… saw action in 11 games… recorded five tackles, including three solo stops… granted a scholarship prior to the season.

2008: Appeared in eight games, all on special teams… did not record any statistics… earned his first varsity letter.

2007: Joined the squad in the fall as a walk-on defensive back… did not play.

2006: Attended Midlands Tech in Columbia… was a member of the President[apos]s List.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Lexington (S.C.) High in 2005… played under coaches Jimmy Noonan, Jimmy Satterfield, Bob Stillwell and Bart Miller… team captain… helped his team to two regional titles… was a two-time all-state pick in weightlifting… earned all-region honors in track & field and wrestling… was a member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Christian Blake Baxley was born June 3, 1987… pursuing a sport and entertainment management degree with a minor in business… grandfather, Clayton Baxley, played football in the Shrine Bowl and later at Brevard College.
