Gerrod Sinclair Bio
Reserve linebacker who is one of only three scholarship players on the roster playing in their fifth season at Carolina… joins Lemuel Jeanpierre and Nathan Pepper with that distinction… consistent performer who can play all the linebacker positions… has played in 36 games over the past three seasons.
2008: Played in all 13 games as a special teams performer… logged six tackles.
2007: Garnered significant playing time early in the season,… suffered a left knee sprain in the win over Kentucky and missed the next two contests… played in 10-of-12 games… recorded 15 tackles, including 12 solo stops… had a season-high four tackles against both South Carolina State and Arkansas.
2006: Played in all 13 games, primarily on special teams… credited with one tackle… added 20 pounds to his six-foot frame and moved from safety to outside linebacker in the spring…. earned the Harold White GPA Award for the defense in the spring.
2005: Redshirted as a true freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Jacksonville[apos]s Mandarin High School in 2005… coached by J.D. Hall… was a SuperPrep All-America and earned first-team 6A all-state honors as a senior after totaling 107 tackles, eight sacks and seven interceptions… was a Jacksonville Times Union Super 11 and a Super 24 (North Florida/South Georgia) selection… earned second-team 6A all-state honors as a junior after logging 80 tackles with nine picks… returned four of the nine interceptions for scores… named All-First Coast his junior and senior seasons… rated the No. 2 safety and the 39th-best player in Florida and the 29th-best safety in the country by Rivals.com.
