Redshirt freshman offensive lineman… worked primarily at right tackle in the spring behind Brandon Shell… slated to compete with Cody Gibson for the top backup role at the position in the fall… could also play guard.
2013: Redshirted as a true freshman offensive lineman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Offensive lineman who helped McDonough High Rams (Pomfret, Md.) to a 9-2 record as a senior… graduated in 2013… coached by Luke Ethington… played in the Chesapeake Bowl all-star game and in the Under Armour All-America Game following the season… rated as a four-star prospect, the sixth-best player in the state, the 15th-best offensive tackle in the country and No. 181 overall by Rivals… a three-star prospect and the 22nd-best offensive guard in the nation according to Scout… considered a four-star prospect, the seventh-best player in the state and the 20th-best offensive tackle in the country by 247Sports… ranked as the nation[apos]s 15th-best offensive tackle by MaxPreps… a PrepStar All-American… had a slew of offers from all over the country ultimately chose Carolina over Maryland, with Florida State, Washington and Oklahoma also in the mix.
