Defensive tackle who is set for his senior season… slated to be in the mix along the defensive interior… looks to see more consistent playing time in his final campaign… listed with the second-team unit entering the fall.

2015: Played in limited duty in 10 games, making five tackles… did not play against either North Carolina or Tennessee… two of his five tackles came in the Citadel contest.

2014: Played in 10 games, recording eight tackles in his first season in Columbia… had two solo tackles in the season opener against Texas A&M and two stops against Vanderbilt… did not play in the final three regular season games after being injured in a car accident during the second bye week… named the Rex Enright Defensive Player of the Spring by the coaches.

2013: Attended Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College, where he played for head coach Curtis Horton… racked up 34 tackles in 2013 with 7.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in nine games for the 2-7 Greyhounds… also forced one fumble… Rivals.com lists him as a four-star prospect and the No. 19 junior college player in the nation… Scout.com ranks him as a four-star prospect… considered a four-star prospect, the No. 18 junior college prospect in the country and the No. 6 JUCO defensive tackle, according to 247Sports.com… ESPN considers him a three-star prospect and No. 43 on its ESPNJC50 list… ranked by PrepStar as a three-star prospect and a JUCO All-American… selected the Gamecocks over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Nebraska and Tennessee among others.

2012: Redshirted in his first season at Fort Scott C.C.

PERSONAL: Abu-Bakarr Rashid Lamin is a sociology major who earned his degree in May.
