Sixth-year linebacker and special teams performer… former walk-on who was rewarded with a scholarship prior to the 2019 season… appeared in 41 games… highly-decorated for his off-field achievements… is the only Gamecock named to the 22-man Allstate AFCA Good Works Team… has earned both a bachelor’s degree in public health and a Master’s degree in health services policy and management.

2021 (Super Senior)

Appeared in all 13 games, working primarily on special teams… credited with four tackles… named to the SEC Community Service Team for a fifth time… shared the Community Service Award as selected by the coaches… was a Campbell Trophy semifinalist… was a co-winner of the Above All Else Award, as selected by his teammates… recognized as the SEC Brad Davis Community Service Award winner at the 2021 All-Sports Gala.

2020 (Redshirt Senior)

Appeared in the first four games of the season after coming back from a season-ending ACL injury in 2019… credited with a pair of tackles, both coming against Vanderbilt… suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the win over Auburn… named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

2019 (Redshirt Junior)

Rewarded with a scholarship just prior to the start of the season… appeared in all 11 games, primarily on special teams, until suffering a torn ACL in the Texas A&M game… credited with six tackles including four solo stops… four of his tackles came in the Charleston Southern win… selected by his peers as the Unselfish Teammate for Special Teams and the Tenacity Award for Special Teams… presented with the Community Service Award by the coaches and was named to the SEC Community Service Team and the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team… named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll… shared the Harold White GPA Award for special teams, announced at the spring game.

2018 (Redshirt Sophomore)

Appeared in all 13 games, primarily on special teams… saw his most work at linebacker in the Belk Bowl versus Virginia… credited with all four of his tackles, including a tackle for loss, in that contest… also was used periodically during the year at fullback in short-yardage situations… named to the SEC Community Service team following the season and received the Community Service Award as presented by the Carolina coaching staff… a member of the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll… recognized as the Dr. Harris Pastides Outstanding Student-Athlete during the 2018 Garnet & Black Spring Game.

2017 (Redshirt Freshman)

Did not see any game action… garnered the Special Teams Scout Team Award and shared the Community Service Award with Ulric Jones… named to the SEC Community Service team and to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

2016 (Freshman)

True freshman walk-on linebacker who joined the Gamecock football program in the spring… redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL

Graduated from Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, N.C. in 2015… played football for head coach Mike Hobgood… the Pride went 5-7 in his senior season… named the team MVP, was a two-time all-conference selection and earned the Heart of a Champion Award.

PERSONAL

Spencer J. Eason-Riddle was born Jan. 12, 1997… graduated in May 2019 with a degree in public health and in May 2021 with a Master’s in health services policy and management… is a regular at the Dorn VA Medical Center and the oncology center of the Prisma Health Children’s Hospital among other community service endeavors… founded and developed the “Sandstorm Buddies Program” which matches student-athletes with cancer patients and their families, where they can serve in a mentor capacity… spearheaded a shoe drive in 2021, asking fellow student-athletes and staff to donate lightly worn shoes and cleats to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Midlands so they can be used by area middle or high school students… a member of SAAC… has visited 48 states.
