2013-14 – Competed in three meets … Posted season best times of 2:04.53 in the 200 freestyle and 1:01.88 in the 100 backstroke against Queens and Wingate … Had top time of the season in the 200 backstroke at College of Charleston (2:10.74) … Named to SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.

2012-13 – Swam in five events during the regular season…Recorded a season-best fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle against College of Charleston, Queens and Wingate…Posted a personal record in the 100 freestyle (55.96) against College of Charleston, Queens and Wingate, in the 100 backstroke (1:00.46) at the Virginia Tech Invitational and in the 200 backstroke (2:06.93) against College of Charleston, Queens and Wingate…Named to the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.

2011-12 –Provided depth in the freestyle events…Swam in five regular season events…Had team[apos]s fourth fastest time in the 1,650 freestyle to finish second with a mark of 17:35.95 against East Carolina and Vanderbilt…Also swam the 200 backstroke during the season…Posted season best finish of fifth place in the event with a time of 2:07.67 against East Carolina and Vanderbilt.

PRE-COLLEGE –Graduated from St. Ursula Academy…State qualifier as a freshman and sophomore…Finished in the top 16 at the state meet as a sophomore…Member of the Cincinnati Marlins club team…National Honors Society member.

PERSONAL –Full name is Sara Catherine Columbus…Born Oct. 15, 1993…Parents are Michael and Karen Columbus…Has one brother, Matt, who is also a swimmer at South Carolina…Chose South Carolina because of the team[apos]s success, the academics and closeness to relatives…Majoring in sports management.
