Indoor: Competed in the heptathlon at the South Carolina Invitational and finished in eighth with a total of 4,432 points … Had top-10 finishes in all seven events during his multi-event competition at the South Carolina Invitational … Also competed in the long jump at the Carolina Challenge and the USC Indoor Open as well as throwing the shot put at the USC Indoor Open.
Outdoor: Competed in two decathlon competitions … Finished 13th in the decathlon at the SEC Championships with a season-best total of 5,694 points … Won the decathlon at the Charlotte Invitational with a total of 5,074 points … Season bests for each event: 100 meters – 11.43, Charlotte Invitational; 400 meters – 53.90, SEC Championships; 1,500 meters – 5:03.11, SEC Championships; 110-meter hurdles – 17.56, SEC Championships; long jump – 5.85m/19-2.50, Charlotte Invitational; high jump – 1.71m/5-7.25; shot put – 11.51m/37-9.25, Charlotte Invitational; discus – 38.88m/127-7, Charlotte Invitational; javelin – 49.47m/162-3, Tiger Track Classic; pole vault – 4.25m/13-11.25, Gamecock Invitational.
Indoors: Prepared for the Heptathlon throughout the indoor season… Set a new indoor PR in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.05m (13-3 1/2) at the South Carolina Invite which earned him a 7th place finish… Had to pull out of the Heptathlon at the SEC Championships due to injury… Set a new PR in the Shot Put at the USC Indoor Open with a makr of 12.87m (42-2 3/4)… Nealry matched his PR in the 60m at the SEC Championships clocking a time of 7.36 to take 16th among Heptathletes.
Indoors: Saw action in four meets, including the first two completed heptathlons of his collegiate career… finished eighth in the heptathlon at the Carolina Challenge, with 4,044 points… scored for the Gamecocks at the SEC Championships, placing eighth in the hep with 4,154 points… set new personal bests in five of the seven events at the conference meet.
Outdoors: Competed in three regular-season meets, building up to a scoring effort in the decathlon at the SEC Championships… came in eighth at SEC Championships to end his season with a scoring performance at both conference meets… scored 5,769 points at the SEC Championships, when he set new personal bests in six of the 10 events.
Indoors: Took part in one heptathlon… also competed in the pole vault and the shot put at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational.
Outdoors: Competed in the 110m hurdles, long jump, discus, javelin and pole vault… had his best finish in the javelin, throwing 43.26m (141-11) to finish fourth at the Gamecock Invitational
Lettered in both track & field and soccer at Durham Academy for coach Dennis Cullen… Led the Cavaliers to a team conference championship… Was named Team MVP in both 2016 and 2017, after he won individual conference titles in the long jump and the discus.
Son of Darren Womble and Michelle Berrey… Graduated high school with honors… majoring in pre-business at Carolina… Chose the Gamecocks because of the Darla Moore School of Business.
