Hard-working junior who will compete in the 5,000 and 10,000.

2006: Competed in the 3,000m during the indoor season with a clocking of 9:15:49, a third-place finish at the USC Invitational … during the outdoor season, contested the 5,000m and ran 16:01.94 at the Weems Baskin Relays followed by a 15:46.21 run at the State of South Carolina Meet.

2005: Competed in the 3,000m and 5,000m during the indoor season … best times were 9:23.49 at the Tyson Invitational and 15:55.09 at the Clemson Invitational … ran three times in the 5K during the outdoor season … placed second at both the Weems Baskin Relays and South Carolina State Championships when he turned in a season-best time of 16:09.32.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in cross country and track for four years at Summerville High School, graduating in 2004 … coached by Bob Crowley … best times were 4:37 in the 1,600m, 10:15 in the 3,200m and 16:37 for the 5K … named to the 2004 All-Region 6-4A Team, was a regional champion in the 1,600 and was the track team 2004 MVP … in cross country, was a member of the All-Region 6-4A Team from 2001 to 2003, selected for the 2003 Coaches[apos] Award, and was a member of the 2003 All-Lowcountry Team … was a member of Region 6-4A Championship track team from 2001 to 2003, member of the 2002 State 4A cross country runner-up team and on the 2003 Region 6-4A Cross Country Championship team, as well as the Lowcountry Team of the Year (2001 to 2003) … 2004 valedictorian and a National Merit Finalist among a number of other academic accolades.

PERSONAL: David Charles Johannesmeyer was born April 5, 1986, in North Charleston, S.C. … his parents are Dale and Carla Johannesmeyer … is a biology major and also a Carolina Scholar, the highest academic scholarship award for residents of South Carolina.
