Indoor: Ran the Mile four times for Carolina … Best placement came at the Gamecock Opener where he took second place … Best time came at the USC Indoor Open where he clocked in with a time of 4:15.92 … Also ran at the Carolina Challenge and the South Carolina Invitational.
Outdoor: Ran in seven races for the Gamecocks … Ran in the 1,500 meters at the SEC Championships and took 27th with a time of 4:05.55 … Ran his season-best time in the 1,500 meters at the UNF Invitational and took 26th with a time of 3:56.11 … Also ran under four minutes at the USC Open and Charlotte Invitational … Earned top-five finishes at the Weems Baskin, Gamecock Invitational and the USC Open … Ran his only 800-meter race at the UNF Invitational and took 30th with a time of 1:57.07.
Indoors: Did not compete.
Indoors: Competed in five meets, at the 800m, 1000m and mile run distances… posted his best 800m time at the Carolina Challenge, 1:57.72… took 24th in his lone 1000m run, clocking 2:36.05 at the Orange & Purple Elite… came in 20th in the mile at the Carolina Challenge with a season-best time of 4:26.16.
Outdoors: Did not compete.
Graduated from Southwest Guilford High School, where he was coached by Chris Patrick… Qualified for the North Carolina state meet each of his last three seasons, finishing third in the 4x800m relay as a senior… Was the conference champion in the mile as a junior and the county champion in the event as a senior… Led the track and cross country squads to three conference championships… Was named team captain as a senior… Was president of his senior class… Graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Son of Shelley Olds… Has one brother, Christian… Majoring in international studies with the goal of serving as a human rights worker… Chose Carolina because he spent a lot of time on campus with his grandfather as a child, and because of the opportunities athletically and academically.
