Competed in four meets during the indoor season, primarily running the mid-distance events … Opened the season at the Clemson Opener with the ninth best 600m time since 2010, clocking 1:23.37 to finish 11th overall … Also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay at Clemson, finishing ninth overall with a time of 3:24.15 … Recorded a new PR in the 800m at the SC Invite, running 1:57.70 … Was also the third leg of the 4x400m relay team that finished fifth at the SC Invite, running 3:21.41.

Won the 2021 North Carolina 800m State Title with the fastest time of the 3A season in 1:53.83 in addition to anchoring his 4x400m relay team to a 6th place finish in the school’s first state meet relay appearance to lead Chapel Hill H.S. to it’s highest team finish in school history with a 10th place team finish … In 2020, anchored his 4x800m to a school record to win the school’s first North Carolina 4x800m State Indoor Title … Finished 5th at the North Carolina State Championships in his Sophomore season in both indoors (1000m) and outdoors (800m) … Finished 13th as a Frosh at the New Balance Indoor Nationals 400m Championship in a time of 53.35 … As a three-time Team Captain, two-time MVP and a six-time letterman for high school coach and former Olympian, Joan Nesbit, Ethan established eight Chapel Hill H.S. school records to become the most decorated school record holder in Chapel Hill history.
