Indoor: Ran in four races for the Gamecocks … Competed twice in the 400 meters … Ran the 400 meters at the South Carolina Invitational and clocked in a time of 58.75 for 19th place … Ran her season-best in the 400 meters at the USC Indoor Open, finishing with a time of 58.43 … Competed in two 800-meter races … Placed fourth in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 2:21.73 at the Gamecock Opener … Also ran the 800 meters at the Carolina Challenge, placing 21s.
Outdoor: Ran in five races for Carolina … Ran her only 400-meter race at the Gamecock Invitational and finished in 22nd place with a time of 59.20 … Ran the 800 meters four times … Clocked in a season-best time in the 800 meters when she finished 12th at the Charlotte Invitational and crossed the line in 2:19.30 … Also took 12th and ran sub-2:20 at the USC Open … Ran the 800 meters at the Florida Relays and Tiger Track Classic as well.
Indoors: Ran in three different events in seven different meets during the indoor campaign… Had her best individual performance at the SEC Championships, finishing in 14th in a time of 2:14.83 in the 800m… Took 14th in the Orange and Purple Elite in the 600m, finishing in a time of 1:37.84… Ran her best 400m time at the USC Indoor Open, finishing in a time of 58.09… Competed in the 4x400m relay once at the South Carolina Invite, taking sixth.
Indoors: Ran three events individually, having success in each… placed fourth in the 400m at the Gamecock Inaugural, with a time of 57.94… won the 600m at the Orange & Purple Elite, the first race of her collegiate career, with a time of 1:36.11… ran the 800m three times, including a third-place effort at the USC Indoor Open with a time of 2:12.85… made a huge contribution in the DMR, helping the squad collect two victories and four new marks on the all-time Carolina top-10 list… helped the Gamecocks finish fifth in the DMR at the SEC Championships with a mark of 11:38.69, second-best in school history… that was the highest finish by a Carolina DMR team at the SEC meet since 2005… ran the 4x400m relay three times and served as an alternate when the team won the national title at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Outdoors: Ran the 800m three times, including fourth-place finishes at the Gamecock Invitational and the USC Outdoor Open… her best time, 2:12.64, came at the Gamecock Invitational… was part of a 4x400m relay victory at the USC Outdoor Open and a 4x800m relay win at the Black & Gold Challenge.
All-State in the 800m in 2018 on her way to a second-place finish… Earned a fourth-place finish at the NCHSAA State in the 500m in 2018… Had a fourth-place NCHSSA State finish in the 4X800 in 2016… Set a school record in six events at Pinecrest High School (500m, 800m SMR, 1600m SMR, DMR, 4X800 and 4X400)… Was named All-Conference in 2018 (400m, 800m and 4X400), 2017 (400, 800 and 4×400), 2016 (4X400) and 2015 (4X800, 400, 800, 4×400)… Helped lead her team to a track and field conference championship all four years of high school and a conference championship in cross country in 2017… Was named the Pinecrest Runner of the Year in 2017 for track and field… Earned the Coaches’ Award in 2017 for cross country and in 2018 for track and field… Named the 2015 Track and Field Rookie of the Year… Is the conference record holder in the 4×400… Finished third at the New Balance Nationals Emerging Elite DMR in 2018… Was captain of the cross country team in 2017 and track and field squad in 2017-2018.
Daughter of Dr. Barry L. Kavanaugh Jr. OD FAAO FCOVD and Penny Kavanaugh… Sister of Coby, Ethan, Dustin and Sydnie… Was named an AP Scholar with Distinction, earning a GPA in the top three percent of her class (4.0 unweighted and 5.0 weighted)… Was a junior marshal through high school… Father Barry played football at Elon University… Notably named to the All-Conference Soccer Team in 2015 as one of just four freshmen to play on the varsity squad.
