Indoors: 
Returned to All-American status with the Gamecocks 4x400m relay team as the starter… Made the 400m final at the SEC Championships and finished in seventh place to score for the Gamecocks for the second-straight year… Opened up the season at the Gamecock Opener with an impressive 33.08 in the 300m to win the event… Finished no worse than seventh in the 400m all season long… Finished second at the Dr. Sander Challenge in New York at The Armory in a time of 47.14… Got as low as 46.75 in the 400m during the season at the loaded Tiger Paw Invite where he finished in seventh… Aided the Gamecocks scoring effort at the 2020 SEC Indoor Championships where the team finished fourth in a season-best time of 3:06.53 where Chance was the lone senior on the squad.

2019
Indoors: 
Got off to a blazing start and ended with an All-America finish in his second indoor season with the Gamecocks… opened his campaign with a 300m victory at the Clemson Opener, with his time of 33.00 setting a new Guyana national indoor record… won the 400m at the Gamecock Inaugural with a mark of 46.15, which at the time was a new Carolina school record and another Guyanese national record… won the 400m at the Dr. Sander Challenge… finished 25th in the 400 at the SEC Championships and took 12th at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning second-team All-America laurels… was a huge part of the 4x400m relay, helping the squad set a school record with a time of 3:05.68 at the Carolina Challenge… helped the Gamecocks finish fifth at the NCAA Championships to earn a first-team All-America designation. 
Outdoors: Was a first-team All-American in the 4x400m relay and an NCAA Regional qualifier in the 400m… individually, ran the 400m at six meets, including second-place finishes at the Spec Towns Invitational and USC Outdoor Open and a third-place result at the Gamecock Invitational… his time of 46.05 at the Gamecock Invitational ranks sixth in Gamecock history… scored at the SEC Championships by finishing eighth in the 400m with a time of 46.93 in the final… ended his individual season at the NCAA East Regional, where he placed 29th… was a major contributor as the leadoff leg on Carolina’s 4x400m relay… guided the 4×4 to a victory at the Spec Towns Invitational… led the Gamecocks to a fourth-place finish at both the SEC Championships and the NCAA East Regional… led off for the mile relay as the group ran 3:02.68 in the NCAA Championships prelims, the second-best time in Carolina history… finish his Gamecock career in the national final of the 4x400m relay, where the group finished eighth and earned first-team All-America status with a time of 3:03.97… won the 400m at the Aliann Pompey Invitational with a time of 46.14.

2018
Indoors: 
Was Carolina’s top 400m runner… finished third in the event at both the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational and the UCS Invitational… ran a season-best 47.84 to finish 26th at the SEC Championships… was part of Carolina’s 4x400m relay efforts, including a victory at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. 
Outdoors: Did not compete for the Gamecocks, though he did run unattached… finished second in the 400m at the Trinidad & Tobago national meet, running 47.68 in the final… ran 46.82 to finish fourth at the Aliann Pompey Invitational in Guyana.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL 
Hails from Guyana and competed collegiately for the University of Trinidad & Tobago, where he earned a National Engineering Technicians Diploma with distinction after posting a 3.53 GPA… Holds the University of Trinidad & Tobago’s school record in the 300m… Finished third in the 400m at the 2016 Trinidad & Tobago National Championships… Won the 200m at the 2017 Southern Games and the 400m at the 2016 Falcon Invitational Games… Carries a 200m PR of 21.76 and a 400m personal best of 46.81… Represented Guyana in the 2017 CARIFTA Games.

PERSONAL 
Son of Philip and Hazel Chance and has one sibling, Damali… Plans to major in chemical engineering at Carolina… Chose Carolina because it’s the most hospitable and hard-working team he’s ever experienced.
