Jaylan Foster
Jaylan Foster is in his third season on the coaching staff of Carolina Football. He spent two years as a graduate assistant with the Carolina defense before being named Defensive Assistant in 2025, working primarily with assistant coach Torrian Gray and the Gamecock defensive backs.
Foster played collegiately for Gardner-Webb for one season, earning Big South Conference Freshman of the Year honors, before transferring to South Carolina as a walk-on. He worked his way up over his four-year Gamecock career from a scout team performer to special teams contributor to starter at safety to second-team All-American.
During his final season, Foster was a first-team All-SEC performer, was a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist, was the co-Joe Morrison (MVP – Defense) and co-Steve Wadiak (Team MVP) Award winner and a Rex Enright team captain.
Foster earned his bachelor’s degree in retail management from South Carolina in 2020.
