Knoxville, Tenn. – USC won three events in the final day of the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., including improving its regional mark in the women’s 4x100m relay with the victory. The Gamecocks posted three regional qualifying marks, including improvements on two relays, the final day.

Shalonda Solomon improved her No. 1 time in the NCAA by winning the 200m Invitational, posting a time of 22.53. Solomon is undefeated in the event since winning it indoors at the NCAA Championships. Solomon also posted a win in the 100m on Friday.

USC’s 4x100m relay won the school’s second relay in as many days, besting its previous regional qualifying mark with a time of 44.22 (Alexander, Hastings, Nesbit, Solomon). The time is the eighth fastest time run in the NCAA this season.

The women also won the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 54.51 – more than a second faster than runner-up Eastern Michigan. USC’s team consisted of Alexander, Clarke, James and Martin.

The men’s 4x400m relay was fourth with a time of 3:07.57 (regional qualifier) behind the swift legs of Thomas Hilliard, Keith Hinnant, Jamil James and Jason Richardson.

USC’s women were sixth in the 4x400m relay at 3:39.01 – a regional time, but not an improvement.
