Ann Arbor, Michigan – The University of South Carolina’s women’s tennis team dropped their first match of the season 6-1 to the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday at the UM Varsity Tennis Courts in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The loss dropped South Carolina to 3-1 while the Wolverines improved to 4-0.

The Wolverines jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by sweeping the doubles point. In singles, the Gamecocks only could get one win. Danielle Wiggins and Fallon Koon both took the second sets of their matches but dropped their match in the third set. The only point that the Gamecocks won on Sunday came at number six singles where Justine Walsh defeated Debra Streifler 6-4,6-4.

The Gamecocks return to action on next Saturday when they host the Clemson Tigers at 1 PM.
