Greenville, S.C. – The Gamecocks continued their play at the Furman Fall Classic on Saturday in Greenville. Carolina posted second and third place finishes in doubles while four players will compete for a third place finish in singles. Grace Blakely took both of her matches in style with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Wisconsin’s Nicole Belica and a 6-1 6-0 victory against Madison Sellers, also from Wisconsin.

Christyn Lucas defeated Jennifer Klaschka of Middle Tennessee, 6-3, 6-2 to advance in the flight one singles bracket while Laura Ganzer needed three sets to defeat Shannon Moore of Furman in the flight two. Miranda Gutierrez dropper a three set match to Taka Bertrand of Vanderbilt, 3-6,7-5,7-5 in bracket three. Fallon Koon, Magda Wojdylo, and Megan McGavock will all play for third place of their respective brackets tomorrow.

Day three of the Furman Fall Classic will continue on Sunday starting at 9:00 a.m. The Gamecocks will return in action in two weeks when they will compete in the USTA Intercollegiate Tournament in New York.
