Greenville, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s tennis team wrapped up the final day of the Furman Fall Classic by taking six of seven singles matches. Two USC players placed third in their brackets while two players finished fourth and two others finished fifth.

Magda Wojdylo, and Fallon Koon placed third in their bracket with wins on Sunday while Megan McGavock and Miranda Gutierrez finished fourth. Wojdylo defeated teammate McGavock 7-5,7-6(3) while Fallon Koon defeated Iowa’s Hilary Tyler, 7-6(2),7-5. Christyn Lucas defeated Megan Racette of Iowa, 6-3,7-5 to finish fifth. Laura Ganzer also placed fifth with a 3-6,7-6(0),6-2 win over Hilary Mintz of Iowa. Justine Walsh defeated Emily Vest of Iowa 6-3,6-1.

The Gamecocks return to action on October 9 as they will compete at the USTA Intercollegiate Tennis Invitation in New York City. Junior, Danielle Wiggins will compete prior to this tournament in Los Angeles at the Rivera All-American Tournament.
