Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina punter and place kicker Josh Brown was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. Brown hit both of his field goals in the first half and kicked two extra points in the second half to tally eight of Carolina’s 20 total points.

Brown also punted the ball four times for an average of 41.5 yards a punt with two of his four pinning the Alabama offense inside their own 20 yard line.

Through the first five games of the season, Brown is six of eight on field goal attempts, and has connected on his last five tries. Brown has converted all 12 PAT’s this season to give him a total of 30 points scored. He has punted the ball 19 times for an average of 40 yards a punt with a long of 49, and has landed four inside the 20 yard line.
