Auburn, Ala. – The South Carolina women’s golf team shot a 22-over-par 310 Saturday at The Derby Invitational in Auburn, Ala., giving them a total of 35-over-par 611 for the tournament played at the Auburn University Course. South Carolina is in eighth place at the event.

Senior Erica Battle once again led the way for South Carolina with a three-over-par 75 on the day, giving her a five-over-par 149 for the tournament. Battle put together a round with two birdies and 13 pars Saturday and is tied for 13th on the individual leader board through two rounds.

Camila Mori, a sophomore transfer from Santiago, Chile by way of Campbell University, shot a five-over-par 77, giving her an eight-over-par 152 through two rounds. Mori is sitting alone in 27th amongst individuals.

Fellow sophomore Whitney Simons followed up yesterday’s 76 with a six-over-par 78.

Junior Jenna Pearson shot an 80 in Saturday’s second round with senior Laura McCaslin carding an 85.

Sophomore Laura Raffo, who is participating as an individual and not included into the team totals, shaved four strokes off her tally from yesterday with a five-over-par 77.

Final round action resumes Sunday.
