COLUMBIA, S.C. – Past and present Gamecock divers competed at the 2008 Speedo USA Diving Spring National Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., April 13-20, at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Former Gamecock standout Allison Brennan finished third in the women’s three-meter springboard event and was selected to the United States FINA Grand Prix squad. Current freshman, Taryn Zack, competed well in the one-meter springboard, finishing fifth among the field.

Brennan, who also finished third in the three-meter at the recent China Open under United States Team Leader and South Carolina head diving coach Todd Sherritt, competed in the final round at Spring Nationals. She tallied a 327.45 during the finals to finish third. For her top-three finish, Brennan has been selected to the United States squad that will compete at the FINA Grand Prix Meet in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., May 8-11.

Zack advanced to the final round of the one-meter event after posting a 228.50 to finish fourth during preliminary rounds. She concluded competition in the event with a 244.65 during finals to collect fifth place.
