Jamie Speronis has been named one of three finalists for the Director of Football Operations of the Year award, FootballScoop.com announced today.

Speronis is finishing his fifth season as DFO at South Carolina and has served in that, or a similar, capacity under Steve Spurrier for 13 seasons at Florida, with the Redskins and now at South Carolina. According to the website, “Several DFOs that either nominated him, or that we spoke with, said that Jamie is always willing to help younger guys in the profession. In fact, several noted that they use a lot of the materials that Speronis has shared with them over the years. One DFO went so far as to say that, `If more guys were like Jamie, we’d all be better off.'”

The other finalists are Chris LaSala from Pittsburgh and Tom Deahn from Temple.

Fans can vote for Speronis by going to the FootballScoop.com website.
